Bridal Shower Planning Tips

Successful parties of any kind, don’t just happen. They are planned. Bridal shower planning is no different. While at first the task may seem monumental, getting organized is the key. If you have the wonderful opportunity to be involved in planning a wedding shower for your friend or a family member, these tips will help.

1. Determine what type of event are you planning. An engagement party, a girl’s only lingerie bridal shower or an outdoors, activity filled couples shower? Knowing What will help you with the Who and Where of your shower planning.
   
   
2. What is your budget? The amount of money you have to spend will determine all of the other areas as you plan the bridal shower. Recruit other wedding party members and/or friends to help out with contributing to the budget and the bridal shower planning.
   
   
3. Who will be invited? Will the bridal shower be a small intimate affair or a large festive gathering? Determine how many guests you can accommodate and consider who they will be. Do they work? Do they need childcare? Will any of them be traveling to the event? Determining the number of guest will help you decide where the bridal shower will take place.
   
   
4. Choose the Location of your event. The number of guest and the shower activities will help determine where the wedding shower will be. If you are planning an Hawaiian Luau couples shower, you might want to reserve a neighborhood pool for the shower or in someone’s private pool. For any party that involves large numbers or dancing, you may consider renting a local hall. Planning where you want to have the bridal shower will help guide you in selecting a theme.
   
   
5. What will the Bridal Shower Theme be? Now that you know who will be coming, and where it will be, decide what shower theme you want to play out. Remember, you will want to coordinate with the bride on what type of themed bridal shower she is interested in having. If she already has a stocked kitchen, she may prefer a different bridal shower theme than a Kitchen shower.
   
   
6. Consider your own Time Constraints during the Shower Planning. Will you have time to prepare the food or will you have the bridal shower catered? Will you hand make the shower favors or buy ready made? Can you complete any of the shower decorations before the day of the event? And most important, Rome wasn’t built in a day, or by one person, so be sure and enlist others to help you in your planning the perfect shower!
