Traditional Bridal Shower Tea Party

There is nothing more intimate and elegant than the traditional bridal shower tea party.  It's time to polish the silver and bring out the china you only use at holidays and decorate with as many beautiful flowers as you can stand.  Drape the serving table with a newly ironed linen tablecloth and fill your favorite trays with lovely little tea sandwiches (cucumber, chicken salad, egg salad); scones, petit-fore's and many other delicate "finger foods."  Set up a full tea service center offering hot teas, coffees and ice teas if you wish.  This bridal shower is wonderful when held at a private room in a lovely restaurant, at a room at the Junior League or at the home of a dear friend.  A wonderful favor for your guest could be a lovely tea cup and saucer filled with potpourri or a candle.  Start early collecting these at garage sales, estate sales or second-hand stores.
